GETTING TO KNOW ED|WARD
In the town of Kirkcaldy, Fife, there was a small shop called Vintage Blossom. It gathered many loyal and passionate customers in the seven short months that it was open. Sadly the shop came to a premature end in April 2009 meaning an opportunity was presented to two girls with heaps of ambition.
These two girls were Lauren Baillie and Lucia Couper. They bonded through a mutual love of French Martinis, Festivals and Flumps. During the summer of 2009 they faced a panel of business experts and were awarded funding through the Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust. Having decided to move away from the name Vintage Blossom the pair exhausted many suitable names for their vintage dream, including "wardrobe" and "Polly and Esther's". They finally settled on the name ed|ward. At first the name was jokingly suggested as an homage to a certain Mr. Cullen, but with further consideration they decided they liked it's simplicity and power. So it stuck.
Using all their passion and power the girls spent all their time remodelling and rejuvenating the shop and it's stock ready for it's opening, until finally... ed|ward vintage opened it's doors on Friday 18th September 2009 in the shadows of an old picture house in Kirkcaldy, Fife. The girls have discovered and continue to source a wide variety of vintage clothing to suit all sorts. Vintage clothing is widely agreed to be any garment which is twenty-five years or older and the foundations of ed|ward's stock is firmly rooted in this principle. The shop also features a rail dedicated to re-worked vintage from Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea. So, two girls with a love of vintage have come together to create ed|ward: a haven for clothes lovers where you can have a shopping experience that is guilt-free, ethical, affordable and completely individual.
